Votes at a glance: Clinton council approves election services, sewer transfer, wastewater plan, street reconstruction bid and surplus ambulance

Municipal wastewater planning program: The council adopted Resolution 7-25 approving the city's Municipal Wastewater Planning Program (MWPP) report for 04/2024. Staff said the state's recommended asset-replacement guideline (2 percent of system replacement value) would equate to roughly $1,600,000 a year for Clinton, but the city's engineering assessment concluded that level of annual set-aside was unnecessary given phased upgrades and ongoing replacement projects.

Street reconstruction: The council awarded the 2025 street reconstruction bid to Granite Construction for $511,004.41 and $0.10. The project covers 2225 West from 1450 North to 1800 North and a small repair section by Crane Field; council members noted multiple bidders submitted proposals.

Surplus ambulance: With the city having added a new ambulance, the council declared the older ambulance surplus and authorized staff to offer it for sale through JJ Kane Auction in Salt Lake City. Council members discussed transferring equipment to the new vehicle and removing identifying markings before sale.
