Lemont board approves annexations, rezones and multiple PUDs including 7 Oaks 2 and Silvercross expansion

The Village of Lemont on April 28 approved a package of land‑use measures, including two annexations with associated rezones and several planning approvals for subdivisions, variances and planned unit developments.

Key actions included finalizing the annexation of 12100 Bell Road (the Wallen Farm), approving a rezoning and related ordinances for the 7 Oaks 2 expansion at 14306 and 14322 McCarthy Road to allow 24 attached single‑family townhomes, approving a rezoning and final plat for 1341 Gordon Lane (Summit Oaks), granting a variance for a detached garage and parking pad at 16 East Custer Street, and approving preliminary and final PUD approvals for a new Silvercross medical office and the mixed‑use redevelopment at 801 State Street.

The public hearings for the two annexations drew no public testimony at the meeting. Jason, a village staff member who introduced several of the items, said the request for 12100 Bell Road covers approximately 15.9 acres and aligns with Lemont’s comprehensive plan; the property is currently undeveloped and the petitioner said the annexation was requested to help market the site. The related rezoning would move the parcel to R‑5A single‑family detached and attached residential zoning after annexation.
