Daggett County Commission approves April 22 minutes, tasks staff to prepare RDA report due Aug. 1

Daggett County Commission members on April 29 approved corrected minutes from their April 22 meeting and discussed the county’s upcoming Redevelopment Agency reporting deadline, directing staff to coordinate with the assessor and return a draft for review.

The commission voted to accept the April 22 minutes after two spelling and reference corrections were raised by members. Commissioners also moved to enter and exit a redevelopment agency meeting earlier in the session; both procedural motions were approved by voice vote.

The commission spent the bulk of the discussion on an RDA report packet that staff said contains property values, assessment ranges and other items the county must confirm before submission. County staff member Peggy White said she had reviewed the materials and could not locate the sources for some of the figures in the packet. "I can't see anything that's changed on it," White said, and she asked for time to coordinate with the county assessor to verify property values and assessment percentages.

White told the commission the county does not currently own residential properties on RDA land but noted homes have been built on previously sold parcels. She said some of the fields in the RDA reporting form — such as property value breakdowns and assessment ranges — were unfamiliar and that she would confer with the assessor's office to reproduce or source the numbers. The commission set Aug. 1 as the target submission date for the RDA report and agreed the completed draft should be placed on a future agenda for formal review before filing.

Other administrative items discussed included a bill for the bond attorney related to a Municipal Building Authority project and a referenced notice to proceed from CID; commissioners said the attorney fee would be charged to the project. The meeting recessed to hold a short Municipal Building Authority session.

Actions recorded in the meeting logs include a procedural motion to go into and out of the redevelopment agency meeting and a motion to accept the April 22 minutes with corrections. Both motions were approved by voice votes. The meeting transcript shows two affirmative vocal responses for each vote.
