Board honors North Salinas student Maya Popp as Monterey County Youth Poet Laureate

Popp read her poem “A Painting on the Wall” and thanked family and supporters. Alejo noted Popp’s role as president and founder of the North Salinas High School Poetry Club and as Salinas Youth Poet Laureate for 2024–2026.
Ending: The board presented a framed resolution and invited the public to attend Popp’s public reading at 5:30 p.m. that day at the Marina Library per the presentation.
