Brentwood commission approves consent agenda and awards Split Log Road design contract

Consent agenda: The commission approved a package of routine items by a single motion. Items listed on the consent agenda included: Ordinance 2025‑05 (rezoning about 30 acres west of Hunters Lane from R2 Suburban Residential to OSRD open space residential development, second and final reading); Resolution 2025‑30 (audit services agreement with Kraft CPA PLLC for fiscal year ending June 30, 2025); Resolution 2025‑31 (amendment for the Tennessee law enforcement hiring, training and recruiting program); Resolution 2025‑32 (alteration to the OSRD development plan for Allens Green Subdivision); Resolution 2025‑33 (change order with Innisguard Construction Group for the Ardent Woods Scales Pump Station project); Resolution 2025‑34 (change order with Cunningham Construction for Crondelet area waterline replacement); and approvals to purchase two Ecolight traffic detection camera systems and Cradlepoint routers and Axon cameras for fire apparatuses.
The consent package passed on a motion that carried by voice vote with one abstention (recorded in the meeting as “I will abstain”). The chair announced the final tally as 6‑0‑1 (yes‑no‑abstain).
Split Log Road design agreement: In new business the commission approved Resolution 2025‑35, an agreement with Sullivan Engineering, Inc., for design services for Split Log Road Phase 3A improvements. Staff described Phase 3A as the segment from Sam Donald Road north about 1.1 miles to the intersection with Sunset Road and Waller. The agreement amount is $253,545 and does not include construction engineering and inspection (CEI) services, which would be authorized later if and when the project moves to construction. Staff said preliminary design and right‑of‑way documentation have been underway and right‑of‑way acquisitions are expected to begin this summer. The motion to adopt the resolution passed unanimously.
No other formal new business items were taken after those votes.
