Geary County schedules executive session on jail review; commissioners seek financial and security details

Commissioners also discussed the security portion of the executive session and said parts of the meeting will be held in closed session for security reasons.
There was a question about whether the sheriff would attend the meeting; commissioners indicated the sheriff would likely not be present during the county’s interview portion because the purpose of that portion was to interview consultants or outside parties separately.
No formal decisions or votes on a jail project were taken at the meeting; commissioners said the purpose is to gather information and then later ask questions or provide direction after receiving recommendations.
