Grayson County’s treasurer told the Fiscal Court that the proposed fiscal year 2025–26 budget was submitted to the Department for Local Government (DLG) to meet the statutory submission deadline and that county officials should review the emailed copy ahead of the court’s first reading.
“We’ve submitted Grayson County’s proposed budget for the 2025–26 fiscal court,” the treasurer said, noting she had emailed the packet earlier the same day. She told the court that some figures were not yet final and that the version shared was the best available under time constraints. “DLG makes me send it to you all by May 1,” the treasurer said, and added that some numbers would change before the county’s first reading in May.
Officials did not take a formal vote on the proposal at the meeting; the treasurer characterized the item as informational and urged members to review the material in their email. The court’s acceptance of the packet leaves the county positioned to meet DLG’s submission requirement while staff continue to reconcile outstanding figures ahead of the formal first reading.
