Resident asks about library contract; county says contract remains valid through year end

A county commissioner replied that the library's contract "has not been terminated. However, they do have a contract and that is valid until the end of this year. Just like any legal document, it has the opportunity to be renewed by both parties should they choose to do so." The commissioner said the end-of-year expiration is part of the existing agreement and offered no further detail on renewal negotiations.
The board did not take formal action on the comment during the meeting. Members encouraged residents to contact commissioners' offices for further information and follow-up.
