Business owner asks Sacramento County to reconsider Locke Management Association appointment

During off‑agenda public comment at the April 23 Sacramento County Board of Supervisors meeting, Lisa Kirk, a longtime Locke business owner and past county-appointed representative to the Locke Management Association Corporation board, asked the board to reconsider a recent appointment.
Kirk said she was not reappointed two months earlier and that a different appointee, Morris Lum, had resigned before attending meetings. She said it is important that the town of Locke have representation that includes business owners and non‑property owners who are considered invitees under the town’s bylaws and CC&Rs. Kirk said she has run a business in Locke for 20 years and submitted an application and a petition with more than 50 signatures supporting her reappointment.
Kirk asked the county to give local invitees advance notice of prospective appointees when reappointments are under consideration so community members have an opportunity to comment.
Supervisor Serna acknowledged the comment and did not take action during the meeting. The clerk did not indicate the matter was on that meeting’s agenda for appointment reconsideration; Kirk said she expects to be reconsidered when the item appears on a future agenda.
