Committee backs one-year apprentice guide license allowing on-the-job experience

He said the Guides Association and New Hampshire Fish and Game developed the idea to give people a supervised, on-the-job chance to learn paperwork, record-keeping and guiding skills before taking the full guide exam.
"This is an act establishing a guide apprentice license," Senator Howard Pearl said when he opened the hearing. He told the committee the measure mirrors an existing hunting apprentice license and is intended to encourage more people to consider guiding as a profession.
