Staff (Nate) reviewed several consent items during the meeting: a performance management report showing sales tax revenue above last year’s levels for three straight months; a request to hire five seasonal recreational assistants (current lifeguards serving as concession backups); amended job descriptions; a United Way grant to support concessions and library programs; a treatment proposal for approximately 13 ash trees in parks with a bid of about $3,050; and ongoing software updates to apply utility rebates automatically. The council added a field‑use agreement with Worthing to allow use of a baseball field and approved adding two part‑time officers to the hiring list.
The council also heard brief reports and praise for parks and recreation projects — including a new Westman Park playground and active pickleball leagues — and staff noted outreach to community organizations about hosting events in Lenox.
