The Hospital Authority Board approved renewals for two contracts used to gather and publish cancer registry data: a HealthCatalyst agreement and a separate registry-partner services agreement.
Mark Brown presented the items and told the board HealthCatalyst is a data tool the hospital uses to gather cancer-related findings and that the contract this year carries a $77,250 cost with a 5% escalator in future periods. Brown said the HealthCatalyst tool gathers data while registry partners help collect, validate and report the data in accordance with Commission on Cancer (CoC) standards. He told the board the registry partner provides monthly and quarterly reports and recommends topic focus based on the data (this year registry partners recommended emphasizing breast-cancer findings).
Staff noted both contracts had start dates earlier in the year; presenters told the board those dates would be corrected in contract paperwork if the board approved the renewals. The presenter said the registry partner will honor the previously listed start date if the board approves the contract.
Outcome: On motions presented at the meeting, the board approved both the HealthCatalyst and registry-partner renewals.
Ending: Staff will correct start dates in the contract documents and continue quarterly reporting to the cancer committee.
