Commission adopts revised land-use fee schedule after planning and zoning recommendation

Commissioners asked clarifying questions about: whether fees would be applied as application charges (rezones, subdivision reviews), how fees relate to building permits and plan-review fees, and expected uses for collected fees (staff time, inspections, administrative costs). The board explained fees are designed to backfill the county workload tied to individual development requests rather than be a general tax.
The commission approved the new fee schedule as cited in the Planning & Zoning letter dated 04/15/2025 and directed staff to publish the schedule and supporting application checklists for applicants.
