A sheriff's office representative told the Public Safety Committee April 22 that deputies handled 5,975 calls for service in the quarter, made about 250 arrests and issued roughly 2,000 citations; the agency reported a 4 minute 51 second response time to priority 1 calls.
The sheriff’s representative said 1,900 of the calls were officer-initiated. “Our response time was, 4 minutes and 51 seconds to priority 1 calls,” the representative reported.
The representative also briefed the committee on a significant narcotics seizure: deputies participated in an interdiction that yielded a 76-pound seizure of methamphetamine en route on a freeway, the speaker said.
The committee discussed investigative technology used by deputies; the speaker praised a technology partner, referenced in the meeting as “Flot,” saying the tool was “very, very good to us” and supported investigations.
Ending: The sheriff’s representative said deputies will continue community outreach and training events and thanked the committee for support of investigative technology.
