The Planning Commission unanimously recommended approval and no public opposition was recorded.
The second approval was for a property described as Tract A in the northeast quarter of Section 7 (Township 11 North), where the applicant seeks five commercial lots while leaving a recently‑rezoned residential parcel intact for future duplex development under single ownership. Staff and the Planning Commission recommended approval; one caller had registered opposition to the application at the Planning Commission hearing but no speakers addressed the council at the public hearing.
Council approval of both preliminary plats clears the way for the applicants to construct roadways and utilities and to return later for final‑plat approval once required improvements are installed.
