Commissioner Schmalbach moved approval of the selection-process recommendations and Commissioner Houston seconded. The commission approved the recommendation with one recusal: Commissioner Keyes said on the record he would recuse because he works in Capital Delivery Services and that the project is one he runs communications on. Castillo noted anticipated design and construction scheduling for each park and that staff would advance the artist contract work.
The commission recorded the approval and the recusal on the public record; staff will proceed with contracting and design work for the recommended artist.
