Timberlane wrestlers take state title; Timberlane Middle wins New Hampshire middle school cooking competition

The Timberlane Regional School District School Board meeting included on-stage recognition of two student groups: Timberlane High Schools state-champion wrestling team and the Timberlane Middle School cooking team, which won first place at the New Hampshire Middle School cooking competition.

Coach Brown, representing the Timberlane High School wrestling program, told the board the team won the 2025 New Hampshire state championship and that the program has a long history of success. "This is our the wrestling program's 31st state championship, which is the most in the state of New Hampshire," Coach Brown said, noting the team produced multiple individual state medalists and placing team members on the programs banner. He described a season with a tough schedule, strong team dynamics and active alumni engagement; he said alumni reached out to congratulate the team following the tournament.

Board members and attendees praised the student-athletes for on- and off-mat contributions. Board members highlighted the programs academic supports, weeknight study halls, and a youth wrestling program that drew 45to50 children in recent seasons. Board members emphasized that many Timberlane coaches are school employees and alumni, which the presenters said helps continuity between athletics and academics.

Separately, students from Timberlane Middle School introduced themselves and described a signature chicken-and-waffle sandwich that won the New Hampshire Middle School cooking competition. The students—Amber (seventh grade), Carson (eighth grade), Eva (eighth grade) and Ryan (eighth grade)—explained their dish and noted the competitions use of honey as a themed ingredient. The board and members of the public sampled the food and presented the team with a trophy from the competition.
