King said the bid amount is tied to asphalt costs and gasoline prices, and the city has a small set-aside to add streets if costs come in lower.
The contract as presented does not include sidewalk replacement. King said curb and gutter work will be performed "as needed," and if sidewalk replacement is required the city can add that work to the contract later.
A motion to approve item "20 20 five-one 35" carried after a voice vote; committee members present voted in favor and no opposition was recorded.
The committee did not provide a roll-call vote. City staff said the contract is the lowest responsive bid for the resurfacing package and described contingency language tied to material costs.
