Laguna Beach schedules tourism stewardship town hall and posts survey; Arbor Day planting planned

"Today, Thursday, which is when you'll be watching this, at 05:30 at city council, there will be a town hall... There will also be our survey about stewardship and preparing for the summer ... on the city website on the main page," Wenagi said on the Fair Game Laguna Beach podcast. He said the survey would be available for another week.
Officials said the goal of the outreach is to prepare for the seasonal "surge" of visitors by ensuring the city has resources to mitigate impacts on residents and protect natural resources. Wenagi noted the Coastal Act limits the city's ability to prevent beach visitors, so the emphasis is on resource stewardship and resident quality of life.
The mayor also said the city's Arbor Day planting was rescheduled after rain and that Laguna Beach intends to plant more trees as part of its ongoing stewardship: "We're gonna plant some trees... we're a tree city and we love trees, and we should be planting as many trees as we can."
