The Scotts Bluff County Board appointed Victor Walker to the county Veterans Service Committee and approved Oasis Nightclub as a new Keno location during its meeting.
Commissioners said Walker has long experience in veterans'service work and local aging-related programs; a commissioner made the appointment motion and the board approved it by a 5-0 vote. Walker was not present but provided a letter of interest.
The board also approved the Oasis Nightclub (owner/operator: Ryan Keller) as a new Keno location. County staff said this is the first step in a multi-part licensing process; the establishment holds a local liquor license and must complete fingerprinting, background checks and bank signatory arrangements before equipment installation. County staff told commissioners the location will increase access for a younger demographic and the county will handle required pre-installation steps; board approval of the site was unanimous.
Both items were recorded as routine appointments and licensing actions and carried on recorded roll calls.
