The Kenosha Board of Water Commissioners on April 28 voted to award Lining Package No. 2 to the lowest bidder, VCU Sewer LLC, for $384,435.75.
Staff described sewer lining as a "less invasive way of rehabilitating a sanitary sewer" and said budget savings from earlier bids left funds available to award the additional package and an alternate bid to address work under a planned project at 309 Ninth Avenue. "We had extra money left over in our budget based on the bids that came in for the first package we bid out," Staff member Zadar said.
The board moved and seconded approval and commissioners responded "aye"; no opposition was recorded.
The contract award covers rehabilitation work identified in the capital program; staff did not specify a start date or contract number during the meeting.
