House suspends rules, reconsiders disagreement and signals agreement on three House bills

"Madam speaker, I move to suspend the rules of the house to reconsider action previously taken in disagreeing to amendments made by the senate to certain house bills," Representative Todd said during the motion to suspend the rules. Representative Morikawa seconded the motion, which was carried by voice vote.
Representative Todd then moved that the House "reconsider action previously taken in disagreeing to the amendments made by the senate and to give notice of the intent to agree to the amendments to the following house bills as referenced on your digital action sheets: House bill number 110, HD 1. House bill number 412, HD 1. And house bill number 1146, HD 1." Representative Morikawa seconded that motion; it was carried by voice vote. The clerk noted that the measures "will appear on tomorrow's order of the day for agree and final reading."
Earlier in the session the clerk read messages from the governor indicating that the noted House and Senate bills were signed into law on 04/22/2025 and designated as Acts 19 through 23. "May these matters be received and filed," the clerk said.
The House also recognized visitors in the gallery advocating for Senate Bill 1300. Representative LaChica introduced "advocates from the Hawaii Public Health Institute" and students from Castle High School, saying the students "are here rallying support for an important measure, senate bill 1,300 which would expand access to free school meals for public students in Hawaii." Representative Grandinetti also introduced family members visiting the gallery.
At roll call the presiding officer announced that 45 members were present and five were excused. The House noted a 48-hour notice for two conference committee reports listed on the day's order of the day. The session adjourned with a motion carried to stand adjourned until 6:30 p.m. the following day.
