City to enter regional negotiations with Miami Valley Lighting; ordinance, 90‑day pre‑negotiation noted

The City Manager said an ordinance is required to authorize the city to enter into collective negotiations. Staff will send letters to the negotiating group and the city will participate in a 90‑day pre‑negotiation phase in which Miami Valley jurisdictions and MVL establish ground rules, followed by a 90‑day negotiation period. Staff said the goal is to present a proposed contract to council for approval by December.
Staff advised residents to report street‑light problems using the pole identification number printed on the pole or via the city’s "Report a Concern" page so MVL can locate and repair specific fixtures.
