Commission approves multiple budget amendments, highway capital outlay from equipment sale revenue

The Cheatham County Commission on April 21 approved several budget amendments covering county general, sheriff, library, EMS and highway capital spending.
During the regular session the commission approved county-general budget amendments that allocated funds including $894.99 to the county jail, $8,500 to South Cheatham Library, $12,500 to Cheatham County Library, $5,000 to the sheriff's department, $24,000 to emergency medical services, $2,400 to the county mayor's office, $105,000 to the sheriff's department (additional), $13,950 to Building and Codes, and $23,000 to the jail. Commissioners said funding sources were "various." The motion to approve general fund amendments was moved by Commissioner Bill Powers and seconded by Commissioner David Anderson; the roll call recorded 12 yes, 0 no and the motion carried.
Separately, the commission approved a highway capital outlay amendment for $92,670. The record states funding for that item comes from revenue collected from the sale of equipment. That motion passed on roll call 12–0.
The commission also approved surplus declarations for county property (a can and a copier) and other routine budget housekeeping items; those votes were recorded as 12 yes, 0 no. Commissioners noted that the amendments had been reviewed in the workshop earlier in the week.
