The Greenacres City Council on April 21 voted unanimously to adopt Ordinance 2025-08 on second reading, amending the fiscal year 2024–25 budget to include a $930,000 adjustment.
Terry Behringer, director of finance, presented the ordinance and told the council there were no changes since first reading. Behringer said the ordinance includes a $50,000 budgeted city match for a $200,000 grant (leaving the grant at $150,000) and a $880,000 adjustment to Fund 306 (youth building) to cover furniture ($391,000 approx.), IT equipment (about $268,000) and miscellaneous expenses such as permitting.
Behringer said the $50,000 and the $880,000 will come out of fund balance. “The total budget adjustment is for $930,000,” he said. The staff recommended approval on second reading.
A public hearing was opened and closed with no public speakers. The ordinance was moved by Council Member Tharpe, seconded by Council Member Noble, and passed unanimously.
