The board also accepted five gifts of $5,000 or more and 11 smaller gifts, with a total reported value this month of $192,328.57. The larger gifts listed for board approval included donations from several elementary PTAs: Lake Highlands Elementary PTA ($109,206.20), Moss Haven Elementary PTA ($48,100.33), Merriman Park Elementary PTA ($12,969.15), Prestonwood Elementary PTA ($5,369.00) and White Rock Elementary PTA ($4,734.00). Trustee Timmy moved to accept the gifts; the motion was seconded and carried 7–0.
Board and staff described the donations as supporting campus projects and student experiences; district staff said gift forms are required before funds are dispersed so purchases align with district policies and long-term sustainment.
Both votes were unanimous. The board’s formal adoption of the full 2025–26 budget and any associated compensation actions is scheduled for the June meeting.
