Cerritos Property Preservation Commission elects JC Chokshi chair; Ms. Blitzer named vice chair

The Cerritos Property Preservation Commission elected JC Chokshi as chair and Ms. Blitzer as vice chair at its regular meeting April 29, 2025.
The commission voted unanimously to elect Chokshi after a call for nominations. The motion to elect Chokshi as chair passed 5-0. Commissioners Ferrer, Robles, Spitzer and Westfall were recorded present during roll call and participated in the vote.
After the chair’s election, the commission nominated and unanimously approved a motion to elect Ms. Blitzer as vice chair; that motion also passed unanimously. The meeting record shows the commission conducted a verbal roll call during the vice-chair vote because of a digital voting issue.
The meeting was brief. Staff noted it would take about five minutes to update meeting roster names in the digital system but that the short agenda could proceed. Staff also welcomed three newly appointed commissioners — Freire, Robles and Westfall — and provided a reminder about a sheriff’s department car show scheduled for the coming Saturday.
The elections concluded routine business and the commission moved on to case hearings later in the meeting.
