Board approves $2.48 million GMP to Chase Building Team for Acacia HVAC and lighting upgrades

The Washington Elementary School District governing board voted April 24 to approve a guaranteed maximum price (GMP) for construction manager-at-risk Chase Building Team to perform HVAC and lighting upgrades at Acacia School.
District staff presented the project and requested approval of the GMP. "This evening, staff is requesting to approve the GMP or gross maximum price for the upgrades at Acacia, which includes mainly HVACs, but we're also doing some lighting upgrades inside the classrooms for better lighting inside the classrooms," said Daniel Bryan, a district staff member presenting the item. Connor Lewis of Chase Building Team was present to answer technical questions.
Board member Peterson moved to approve the award of the guaranteed maximum price for construction manager-at-risk services for Acacia School to Chase Building Team in an amount not to exceed $2,481,317. Board member Bill Adams seconded. The board voiced "Aye" and the motion passed.
The board did not provide a recorded roll-call tally of individual votes in the public transcript; the motion was announced as approved. The contract award covers HVAC system replacements and interior classroom lighting upgrades at Acacia; further contract administration will be handled by district staff and the construction manager.
No amendments to the GMP were offered during the discussion. Connor Lewis remained available to answer follow-up technical or scheduling questions and staff will manage execution under the approved GMP.
