The Tamworth Select Board voted April 22 to adopt an amendment to the town personnel policy that creates an employee sick bank, and to form a three‑person committee to administer requests under the policy.
A board member moved to adopt the amended policy and the motion passed on roll call. The policy specifies administration by the town administrator, one Select Board member and a third member appointed by the Select Board. During discussion a Select Board member volunteered to serve as the board’s representative and the board nominated Julie Lenoy, identified in the meeting as executive director of the Tamar Community Nurse Association, to serve as the third community member; Lenoy agreed to serve.
A board member said the town will send employees an updated copy of the policy and request signatures acknowledging receipt. The administrator noted she would solicit donations of hours from employees and would remind staff during open enrollment in December that donated hours can roll over.
The motion to appoint the committee members passed on roll call.
