The approvals included a request from the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention to use Shelter 8 at Sanders Ferry Park for a construction-industry-focused Hike for Hope; extensions and summer offerings for existing youth programs; a YMCA “painted rocks” greenway project; an Eagle Scout proposal to build a 16-foot “rainbow bridge” and leash holder at the dog park; a grandfathered-food-truck waiver for Hendersonville High School’s Black and Gold Day; an Abominable Snowballs grand-opening at Memorial Park; and a pilot recycling program run by Green Village Recycling at selected sporting events. Board members voted to recommend the parks portion of the proposed FY26 budget and to approve installation of a pet scanner at the dog park. Most motions passed by voice vote.
