Board adopts wide package of leases, grants and code updates; several items moved forward on consent

The San Francisco Board of Supervisors on April 29 approved a broad package of measures including lease amendments, grant acceptances, contract authorizations, and first‑reading ordinances.

Highlights included approval on first reading of an ordinance to appropriate funds for tenant improvements tied to the city's new lease at 1455 Market Street and a companion resolution authorizing the lease amendment; a retroactive lease for non‑congregate shelter at the Adonte Hotel (610 Geary Street); acceptance of multiple federal housing grants; large contract authorizations for insurance brokerage services; and a Federal Aviation Administration grant acceptance for airport gate improvements.

The board took most votes under “same house, same call,” moving numerous items on unanimous voice or roll call votes. Several items that were recorded included: an ordinance to appropriate $8.5 million from projected revenue surplus, de‑appropriate roughly $3.3 million from other capital projects and appropriate $11.8 million to interdepartmental rent and tenant improvement costs related to the Human Services Agency’s new space at 1455 Market Street (item 8; passed on first reading); a resolution authorizing a first amendment to the lease at 1455 Market Street that would add approximately 226,000 rentable square feet of office space and about 6,000 rentable square feet of basement storage for a 21‑year balance of term and to authorize tenant improvement and technology expenditures up to $15,500,000 (item 9; adopted); and a resolution to retroactively authorize a lease with Roshan…
