James Bevere, Hillside’s director of curriculum and instruction, announced that his resignation appears on the board agenda and said he will be ascending to a superintendent position elsewhere.
Bevere, whose resignation is listed on the meeting agenda, thanked teachers, administrators and families and praised Superintendent Glover for mentorship and support. Bevere said Glover had personally coached him on budget, curriculum and personnel matters and described Glover as “the right man for this job” and “a good man.”
Bevere told the board he would not have pursued a superintendent position without Glover’s guidance and closed by urging the board to “hold on to him with both hands” because strong leaders are hard to find. The board did not record any vote or personnel action during the public portion of the meeting; Bevere’s statement was announced as appearing on the agenda.
