Councilmember Hahn described longstanding problems with illegal and unsafe truck traffic through residential streets in Wilmington and said the Department of Transportation, Street Services and LAPD collaborated on a solution. Hahn described the measure as improving neighborhood quality of life and urged the council to support it. The council opened and closed debate and recorded a unanimous roll call approving the item (13 ayes).
Next steps: the Department of Transportation and Street Services will implement the approved barricades and coordinate with LAPD on enforcement as needed.
