Buckeye details new fire stations, training facility plans and police communications upgrades

Fire Chief Jake Rhodes said the department opened Fire Station 707 in Blue Horizons and is moving forward on Victory Fire Station and Fire Station 706 in Westpark, with land for Victory already acquired and architects being selected. Rhodes said the Victory station will be at Acacia and Indian School Road and that Westpark station land has been donated as part of the Copper Falls development. He told the mayor that the Westpark crew has operated out of a temporary double‑wide trailer sited in a school parking lot and that moving to a permanent station will improve operational access.
Mayor Osborne also said the Police Department Communications Building will open this summer to enhance emergency response capabilities and that the city will oversee the Joe Fosse shooting range, which is expected to reopen in fall 2025 for law enforcement training and public use.
