Bonner County approves bids to clear metal, hazardous waste and grind wood at transfer stations

Howard said the metal‑removal contract will be evaluated on the dollar amount offered to the county per ton for scrap metal and that the contract as advertised is at no cost to Bonner County. The household hazardous waste contract is structured to pay a base fee (Howard said the county currently pays $1,500 per weekend) plus additional fees based on the material types collected; bids will cover packaging, transportation and disposal. The wood grinding contract will cover grinding, transport and disposal of wood piles at Dickensheet, Idaho Hill and Colburn transfer stations.
The board approved all three item motions by roll call vote. No public comment was recorded on the bids. The motions instructed county staff to issue and advertise the requests for bids and return with responses for the board to evaluate under the terms set in the advertisements.
