Resident urges board to address dangerous parking and traffic at Pinellas Building 2 entrance on Anderson Lane
Summary
During public comment, resident Vaughn Bryant described repeated evening congestion at the Pinellas Building 2 entrance on Anderson Lane, saying parked cars block a one-lane road, impede driveways and caused near-miss incidents; Bryant requested the district consider rerouting traffic or improving the site to reduce hazards.

During the meeting’s public-comment period, resident Vaughn Bryant told the McCreary County Board of Education that traffic at the Pinellas Building 2 entrance on Anderson Lane has become dangerous and prevents her from safely entering and exiting her driveway.
Bryant said the change began earlier that year when traffic began to come down Anderson Lane toward the facility. She reported counting “79 cars” pass through in the evening and described a recurring condition in which “four cars right at the end of Anderson Lane” block what she said is a one‑lane road, preventing a fully loaded log truck from passing. Bryant said a vehicle “ran completely off the road to avoid that log truck,” and that a head‑on collision was narrowly avoided. She described being harassed and having people linger at her front door when cars queue at the road’s end.
Bryant asked the district to explore options such as rerouting traffic, paving additional area to allow passing, and telling drivers not to park four abreast at the end of Anderson Lane. She acknowledged the Pinellas parking lot is small and said many parents do not use bus transportation for their children.
Bryant also referenced a statutory citation during her remarks (transcribed as “KRSI 2 5.14”) and said the safety concern is both for residents and for people walking in front of the school.
Board members thanked Bryant for raising the concern; no formal board action on traffic was taken during the Sept. 23 meeting other than asking staff to note the concern.
