Pam O’Brien, representing Aid to Victims of Domestic Abuse, Inc. (AVDA), thanked the commission for its support and highlighted the organization’s prevention and victim services in Palm Beach County. O’Brien said AVDA’s prevention programming reaches roughly 11,000 people in the county each year and emphasized partnerships with law enforcement; she noted Chief Hartman serves on AVDA’s board.
O’Brien and AVDA staff described priorities including prevention education, coordinated community response among justice and health agencies, and access to medical, legal and housing services for victims. The proclamation text referenced county and state partnerships and pledged the town’s support for increased awareness, prevention and services for survivors.
The commission welcomed AVDA’s representatives and the matter proceeded without a formal vote beyond the mayor’s proclamation.
