Boyertown board accepts consent items, approves Eagle Scout shelving project and reviews treasurer—s report

The Boyertown Area School District Board of School Directors on Sept. 23 approved routine consent items, accepted the treasurer's August highlights and voted to approve an Eagle Scout shelving project at the high school with conditions requiring facilities inspection and coordination.

Treasurer's highlights: The district—s treasurer presented August 2025 revenue and expenditure highlights. Delinquent tax collections for the period were $106,702.13; earned income tax collections were $362,553.04; transfer tax collections were $267,958.87; and the district received a property tax relief subsidy payment of $1,511,837. The treasurer also said the state budget had not been finalized and that state payments had not begun.

Consent and superintendent items: The board approved the minutes of the Sept. 9 Committee of the Whole meeting and a superintendent consent agenda that included student agreements, a donation list and other routine items. The administration recommended and the board approved two special-education service agreements (one for speech and language and one for translation services with TransPerfect) and a winter sports bid list; the board also approved a mutual settlement agreement related to a charter-school matter that administration said had been negotiated over several years with outside counsel. The motions carried by roll call votes with "ayes have it," as recorded in meeting minutes.

Eagle Scout project approved with conditions: Declan Larimore, a sophomore and marching-band member, asked the board to approve an Eagle Scout project to add painted wood shelving to a band locker/room area to store heavy brass instruments. Larimore said he will provide materials and coordinate assembly with classmates and the band director, Mr. Campapiano. The board voted to approve the project but required pre- and post-completion inspections by the facilities department and said the facilities director would provide contact information so Larimore could coordinate specifications. "When you come to completion of the project we have Mr. Bramble and someone from his team come over to inspect and certify that what you've put in meets the specifications and needed desires from a safety perspective," a board member said. Larimore agreed to meet with facilities and to supply plans and materials lists in advance.

Settlement and vendor approvals: Administration said the mutual agreement and release with the charter school had been worked on for nearly a decade and that outside counsel Fox Rothschild advised the district on the matter. The board approved the settlement and other items on the superintendent—s agenda by roll call.

Ending: The board recognized longtime district employee Bobby Moyer on his retirement after more than 45 years of service, and directors discussed next committee meeting dates. No new capital appropriation was authorized at the Sept. 23 meeting; staff will return with vendor proposals and cost details where needed before the board considers expenditures.
