The Alton Town Planning Board voted on Sept. 16, 2025 to deny a refund request for case P25-28. Planning staff reported the applicant withdrew the submission after the board’s review process began and that newspaper notices and other steps had already occurred. The planning office noted the application form states fees are nonrefundable.
Staff told the board a deed notation prevented further subdivision for the property in question; the applicant requested a $300 refund of the filing fee. The planning office said it had a $200 refund line in its operating budget; providing the full refund would require reallocating $100 from elsewhere.
A motion that the board not refund the application filing fee was seconded and carried by voice vote; no roll-call tally is recorded in the minutes.
