Council schedules second readings for three land-use ordinances, including special-use permit for drive-through

Grove City Council on Tuesday reviewed three land-use ordinances on first reading and set second readings and public hearings in October.
Ordinance C35-25 (first reading) proposes a special-use permit for a drive-through facility at 3188 Southwest Boulevard; the ordinance was introduced and scheduled for a second reading and public hearing on Oct. 6.
Ordinance C36-25 (first reading) would rezone 3612–3614 Hoover Road from PSO (professional services office) to C-2 (retail commercial). Council scheduled its second reading and public hearing for Oct. 20.
A third ordinance presented on first reading would rezone 3472 Grant Avenue from R-2 (single-family residential) to D-1 (two-family/double), with a second reading and public hearing also set for Oct. 20. The council noted that two residents were present and that, as is typical, public testimony is usually taken at the second reading; council agreed to defer full public comment to the hearing.
No formal votes were taken on these ordinances during the first-reading session beyond the scheduling of second readings. Council members discussed that public testimony is normally reserved for the public hearing and encouraged speakers to return for the October hearings.
The ordinances remain at the first-reading stage; citizens who wish to comment will have the opportunity at the announced second readings.
