City Manager Erdmann told the council the change adds a four‑year schedule and updates biennial entries to avoid a potential conflict with state law on salary increases enacted during an official's term. "When this was originally adopted, it indicated that starting in 2019, every odd year we would update this," Erdmann said. The amendment keeps previously adopted amounts for the 2026–27 timeframe, then increases the listed amounts by $25 per month for the remaining years and retains the existing pay gap between the mayor and mayor pro tem.
Mayor Pro Tem Torelli moved to adopt the ordinance; Council Member Anderson seconded. With no further discussion the council voted to adopt the ordinance as presented. The clerk announced the vote passed unanimously, seven‑zero.
The ordinance was described in staff remarks as a housekeeping measure to schedule future adjustments so increases are not voted on during an incumbent's current term. No additional amendments or conditions were added during the meeting. The council moved on to the next agenda item after the vote.
