Cape Coral, Fla. — The City of Cape Coral Community Redevelopment Agency on Sept. 10 approved three business incentive awards under its Breaking Barriers to Business program and moved to halt acceptance of new applications while staff returns with clearer, written program language.
The board approved CRA Resolution 14-25, a recommended $33,008.94 reimbursement for Palace Pub & Wine Bar; Resolution 15-25, a $28,520 award for Nice Guy's Pizza; and Resolution 16-25, a $7,817 award for Lady Cakes Bakery. After discussion about inconsistent eligibility language on the Economic and Business Development Office web page, the CRA also voted to suspend receipt of new B2B applications effective 11:59:59 p.m. the previous night and asked staff and the city attorney to codify the application timing in a formal resolution.
