County staff told the board customers will be given at least three billing cycles’ advance notice on their combined Sopchoppy water/sewer bills before the change; the county expects the transition to be complete no later than May (year not specified in the presentation). The amendment passed 5–0.
Purchase of flood‑prone lots for stormwater work: The board approved staff’s recommendation to authorize a purchase and sale agreement for two lots in the Wakulla Gardens subdivision that have historically been prone to flooding; staff said the lots are suitable locations for stormwater improvements along Maxon Street. The board approved staff’s recommended option and the motion passed 5–0.
Consent and other routine items: The board approved the consent agenda and several routine items (including a motion to resume county sewer billing and related administrative items) by unanimous vote. One agenda item noted in the meeting will save the county approximately $40,000 by restoring sewer billing operations to the county rather than an outside provider.
