The Oktibbeha County Board of Supervisors accepted a draft of the county’s 2025 comprehensive plan and set public engagement dates ahead of a formal adoption vote.
County staff asked the board to accept the draft and approve an implementation plan that includes two public open houses — Sept. 14 and Sept. 15 — and a public hearing on Oct. 6. Staff said consultants will attend the Sept. 15 session to present the plan and answer questions. The board authorized public notices and directed staff to run the notices as required.
During discussion staff said it had emailed the draft to supervisors rather than including a paper copy to conserve resources. The acceptance sets the formal public-review calendar; the board will consider final adoption after the public hearing process and any recommended revisions from public comments.
Why it matters The comprehensive plan frames future land-use decisions, capital investments and policy priorities; public open houses and a hearing create a record of public comment before the board considers adoption.
