Proviso Twp HSD 209 reports buildings largely ready for Aug. 11 opening after summer maintenance

A facilities staff member for Proviso Twp HSD 209 told the school board that most summer projects at Proviso East High School, Proviso West High School and the Proviso Math and Science Academy are near completion and that the district expects buildings will be ready for the Aug. 11 student opening.
Office, cafeteria and mechanical work have been the focus. The presenter said Proviso East is about 85% to 90% through a deep cleaning program, with floors being waxed and corridors and bathrooms receiving attention. The kitchen hood system was tested and returned to service, and preventive maintenance on the high school cooling tower is complete.
