Donations - The board approved a resolution accepting a small donation (one item set) by roll call; vote 7–0. The resolution carried.
Meal pricing - The board approved proposed second-meal pricing for 2025–26 (see separate article). Roll-call: unanimous, 7–0.
Land acknowledgment and tribal flags - The board adopted a resolution supporting the regular reading of a land acknowledgment and display of the flags of Minnesota's 11 federally recognized tribal nations in the Education Service Center boardroom; roll-call vote 7–0. Implementation was targeted for the Aug. 18, 2025 meeting contingent on administrative logistics.
Policy actions - The board voted to send policy 533 (wellness) back to the policy committee for clarification of language and consistent terminology; motion carried on voice vote to send back for edits. - The board conducted first reads for policies 102.1, 506 and 534; no final action was taken at this meeting. - On policy 501 (school weapons), the board voted 4–3 to move a fuller discussion to the Aug. 18 work session.
Closed session - The board went into closed session at 8:05 p.m. to receive confidential legal advice on two matters (ISD 281 v. City of New Hope and a threatened legal claim by a former employee) and to consider labor negotiation strategy pursuant to Minnesota statutes cited on the record. The board returned to open session at 11:28 p.m. and adjourned.
