Summary
The planning commission approved the final plat for Davenport Station Section 6 — 29 lots on 18.93 acres — saying the plat conforms to a previously approved conditional use permit and that most staff comments have been addressed.
The Rutherford County Regional Planning Commission on Aug. 25 voted to approve the final plat for Davenport Station Section 6, a 29-lot subdivision on 18.93 acres along Shelbyville Pike, finding the plat conforms to the property’s earlier conditional use permit (CUP).
Planning staff said the preliminary plat and the original CUP for the larger Davenport Station development dated to 2007 and that this section conforms to the approved CUP. The staff report noted mostly minor “housekeeping” items remained (typos and labeling) and that the plat otherwise met the previously approved preliminary plan.
John Minor of SCC, the applicant’s representative, told commissioners the section is still under construction and showed that several internal roads will be rebuilt as part of the phase work. He said the lots in this section were larger (about 10,000–16,000 square feet) than some of the smaller lots previously built in the development.
A commissioner asked whether homes in this section would match existing houses nearby; the applicant said they would. With no further questions from commissioners, a motion to approve carried by voice vote.
The approval was recorded as conforming to the 2007 CUP; staff will follow up on minor labeling and typographical corrections identified in review.
