Council approves Villas at Kickingbird PUD to allow 49 townhome units near Danforth Road

Ken Bridal, director of planning, summarized the request and said the property is characterized as "suburban infill" in the Edmond Plan 2018 and that the planning commission recommended approval by a 5-0 vote. The PUD design statement limits uses to townhomes and related common-area amenities, sets a 35-foot maximum building height and identifies Danforth Road as the primary access point.
Applicant David Box told council he provided elevations and additional information requested by neighbors and said he was available to answer questions. No members of the public spoke during the council hearing on the item.
Action: A motion to approve the rezoning and ordinance (case Z24-15; ordinance no. 4,052) passed unanimously, 5-0.
Next steps: The applicant will proceed to the site-plan and permitting stage, where staff will review required landscaping, parking, construction standards and other site-level requirements.
