Elkhart County commissioners on Aug. 25 approved a $30,000 additional appropriation to the planning department's state grant fund to correct the account into which a previously approved seed grant had been recorded.
May Crancer, planning and development, told the board the seed grant had already been approved but was initially appropriated to an incorrect department account. "This first request is for our seed grant, which you all already approved, but, unfortunately, it was appropriated into the incorrect account for our department," Crancer said. The request moves the $30,000 into the correct account. A corresponding reduction to the incorrect account was presented and approved at the same meeting.
Both the appropriation and the matching reduction were approved unanimously as recorded in the meeting excerpt; motion and second were not identified by name in the transcript.
