Beltrami HRA outlines housing projects, grants and age-friendly plan for county

Sandy reviewed several development projects and planning efforts in the county packet: a Conifer campus infrastructure and housing effort for which the city committed $500,000 and the state offered a $500,000 match, and Beltrami HRA contributed $100,000. The Conifer plan includes a 39-unit apartment attached to planned infrastructure. Sandy said the HRA and partners are pursuing a Greater Minnesota infrastructure grant that made the county eligible to compete this biennium.
She described other projects noted in the packet, including multiple proposed subdivisions and multi-family developments (listed in the packet) and work with local partners on a Dec. 2 housing summit and other workshops. Sandy also described a state-funded "Connected Communities" age-friendly grant overseen by HRDC that will focus on age-friendly housing, multimodal transportation and community public spaces.
